Zulu expression that literally means we have not seen him. The term became famous as the title of the eponymous 1987 song by Johnny Clegg against Apartheid that was dedicated to Nelson Mandela. At the time, Mandela was imprisoned and the regime had prohibited the publication of images and descriptions of him, so asimbonanga referred to not seeing him.
