Nearly 16 million people speak Zulu as a second language, mostly in Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland), Mozambique and Botswana. Therefore, a total of about 28 million people speak Zulu worldwide.

Origins of Zulu

Zulu is a Bantu language from the large family of Niger-Congo languages that is indigenous to South Africa. It is most similar to other Bantu languages in the area, such as Xhosa or Swazi.
