How to pronounce
Frédéric Chopin

01/03/1810 - 17/10/1849
Frédéric François Chopin was a Polish virtuoso pianist and composer of French descent from his father's side.
Chopin's name is often written in French rather than Polish because he moved to Paris at 21 and eventually obtained French citizenship and a French passport, and began using the French version of his name.
Consequently, there are two ways to pronounce Chopin's name, the French version and the Polish version.
The correct pronunciation of the French version of Chopin's name is Freh-deh-reek Sho-pan.
Alternatively, the original Polish pronunciation is Fryderyk Chopin.
