Anime

Anime are a form of Japanese art and cartoons. Anime literally translates to the word "animation" in Japanese, therefore referring to all types of animated media there, whether it is computer animated or hand drawn.
Around the world, the term anime represents animated media or the style typical of anime that comes from Japan. Anime's style derive from the comics manga.
English speakers often pronounce anime as Ah-nee-mey, but this an anglicization of the word. The correct pronunciation of anime is Ah-nee-meh.
The difference is that the final syllable is not pronounced with an "ey" sound, but it is pronounced with a short "e", which is with an "eh" sound. Additionally, the -meh at the end of the word is pronounced as if there were an acute accent (é), which is due to the fact that equal stress must be placed on each individual syllable.
