Independent emirate in Western Asia. It is located on the western coast of the Persian Gulf. It is best-known for one of the largest reserves of oil and natural gases of the world and because it owns and headquarters the Broadcast network, Al Jazeera.
Although its pronunciation may vary in the Arabic world, it is generally pronounced as Kuh-Tar.
