Incel is an English neologism, created in the world of the internet, and formed from the initial letters of INvoluntary CELibate.
It refers to heterosexual men who perceive themselves as unattractive and experience difficulties forming romantic relationships. Incels hold the belief that women prefer only “alpha,” physically attractive, and financially successful men. This perspective clearly illustrates a misunderstanding of the factors that influence romantic relationships, which in reality extend beyond appearance and socioeconomic status. That's how incels develop hostility toward women and accuse them of choosing only alpha, attractive, and wealthy men. Incels are, in fact, misogynists, racists, serial haters, and often supporters of rape culture and violence.
