Mary Cassatt was an American painter and printmaker whose full name was Mary Stevenson Cassatt. While she was born in the US, she lived in France for most of her life, where she befriended and was mentored by French painter and sculptor Edgar Degas. She is considered to be one of the great impressionists of her time.
